Refund & Return Policy

1. Introduction

At Secret Gear, we are committed to providing high-quality Kilimanjaro trekking equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our customers. This Refund and Return Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which returns and refunds are accepted. By renting equipment from us, you agree to adhere to this policy.

2. Rental Returns

2.1 Return Timeframe

All rented equipment must be returned by the agreed-upon return date specified in your rental agreement. Late returns may incur additional fees as outlined in Section 4.2.

2.2 Condition of Returned Equipment

Equipment should be returned in the same condition as when rented, accounting for normal wear and tear. Significant damage, loss, or excessive wear may result in additional charges, as detailed in Section 4.3.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

3.1 Cancellation Policy

  • Before Pickup: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the pickup time will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the total rental cost.

After Pickup: Once equipment has been picked up, no refunds will be issued for early returns or unused rental days.

3.2 Refund Process

Refunds will be processed using the original payment method within 7 business days of the cancellation confirmation.

4. Fees and Charges

4.1 Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit is required at the time of rental. This deposit will be returned upon the timely return of equipment in acceptable condition, as per Section 2.2.

4.2 Late Return Fees

Late returns will incur a fee of 20% of the daily rental rate for each day the equipment is overdue.

4.3 Damage or Loss Fees

Customers are responsible for the full repair or replacement cost of any equipment that is lost, stolen, or returned with significant damage beyond normal wear and tear.

5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are expected to:

  • Use the equipment responsibly and in accordance with its intended purpose.
  • Notify Secret Gear immediately of any issues, damages, or malfunctions.
  • Ensure the equipment is returned clean and dry to prevent mold, mildew, or other damage.

6. Consumer Rights

This policy is designed to be fair and transparent, in line with Tanzanian consumer protection laws, including the Fair Competition Act, which prohibits unfair trade practices and ensures consumer rights are upheld.
