You can really rent everything for going on a hike from this shop. Even hiking shirts, bottles, hat, gloves, boots, jacket… I rented a lot from them and it was good. Only the first pair of shoes was falling apart after climbing Ol doynio lengai. This could have become very dangerous and they should check what they rent beforehand. The second pair was good. I dropped by here but I didn’t rent anything, so I can’t speak to the actual service. I was only helping a friend get equipped. However, I thought it was worth posting a review because they have a very good selection of outdoor gear and this is the first place I would go if I needed anything for camping or trekking in the area. They have a wide selection of cold weather jackets and pants, rain jackets and pants, sleeping bags, and other stuff including hiking boots, water bottles, headlamps, etc, and the prices seemed reasonable. I saw a lot of gear from top outdoor gear manufacturers. If you need a down jacket for a Kilimanjaro trip, or some goretex pants for some rainy season safari adventure, I think this is your place. We rented a few jackets and sweaters as well as a pair of binoculars for a safari. Everything went really smooth and even though we arrived late to Arusha they went out of their way to help us. They have quite a lot of gear, which you can also see on their website. We ended up calling them on Whatsapp before going to their shop to ask about what they had in stock, and they answered right away and were really helpful. If you have plan for mountain trekking but you have no or you miss some of trekking equipment don’t worry, Secret Gear is there for you. I rented all equipment for Kilimanjaro trekking via Marangu route 5 days, all gear I rented were the best quality and best choice of brands from the team at the Secret Gear. I had no a full idea on what to wear for the hike but they gave me a full kit list and pick from there. They are very good advisors, very friendly, and offer the best price of rentals.
